The posters for the 2017 National Fine Art Show & Auction features Mt. Stuart Country by Robert Walton.
Robert Walton has been selected by the Western Art Association as the 2017 Poster Artists for the 45th National Fine Art Show and Auction. The painting, which is an oil with pallet knife and brush, is titled “Mount Stuart Country”.
Bob was born in Tacoma, Washington and at the tender age of 14 he joined the Tacoma Mountaineers Club. His fascination in the beauty of the majestic mountains led him to become a mountain climber and In 1958 he was in the party to make the first ascent of the west wall of Mt. Rainier. Today he paints his way to the top of the peaks. Bob now resides in Spokane but continues to do many workshops and art shows throughout the western states. He became a Leanin’ Tree artist in 1993, the WAA 1999 Poster Artist, 2005 Clymer Award recipient, 2012 People’s Choice Award winner at the National Fine Art Show and Auction and an active participant in the Fred Oldfield Heritage Center.
