For Artists
Thank you for expressing an interest in becoming a Western Art Association artist. The following information will assist you in submitting a portfolio. The deadline for applying is September 15th. Portfolios received after September 15th will be considered for the following year’s show.
Artwork must be representational and incorporate the image of what you might see while traveling through the West of yesterday, today or tomorrow. Size of image may not exceed 48” in any dimension. All art work will be judged on the basis of artistic vision, technical excellence and compliance with the Association’s focus. 10-15 images of your recent work (no more than two years old) must be represented in your portfolio. Detail shots are welcome but do not count toward the required minimum. Images are to be presented on a CD with all images titled, media identified and size. There is a $10 application fee. Please submit a check or money order to the Western Art Association. Work is juried by a six member panel comprised of individuals within the Western Art Association which includes artists and collectors.
Artists whose work is selected will be notified in writing by October 31st.
Entry Requirements
- Your portfolio will contain the following information:
- Professional resume limited to a maximum of 5 pages.
- Your Artist statement defining the focus, direction and scope of your art work.
- Biography providing personal background of history, influences, interests, etc.
A CD with a maximum of 15 images. Images must be of high quality. Your being accepted will be based on these images. Accepted Artists
Once an artist becomes an accepted Western Art Association exhibitor their name will be placed on the Exhibit Booth waiting list. We encourage artists to submit art work for the juried auction. If your work is accepted for the auction it gives you exposure to show attendees and buyers. Further information on the submission of auction work will be mailed in October. The packet will contain the Auction Rules and Regulations, Hold Harmless Agreement, Auction Submission form and general information.
